Lots of metals can be melted down after use to make liquid metal, which when solidified still holds the same strength as before. This makes them good for recycling, as they can be used over and over agin in product manufacture. By recycling metals it means that, less raw ore needs to be mined, which can slow down the depletion of resources.
Aluminium is known to be one of the easiest recyclable metals as most recycle bins/centres/pickups accept Aluminium. In the US over 57 percent of Aluminium was recycled a 2009 study showed. The study also showed that the time it takes to renew the metal into a new product is a very quick process; in as little as just 60 days after an aluminium can is dropped into a recycle bin, it can be back on the shelf in the form of a new product.
Steel is also more recyclable than you think, some Steel mills in fact use nothing but scrap steel to make new Steel. Typically in new Steel product manufacture, between 25 and 100 percent of it has be recycled.
